JAL STEAM SCHOOL is an educational program held by Japan Airlines. It’s a new program from SORAIKU®, part of the JAL Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to provide education to the next generation. The program is based on the educational concept “STEAM,” which works to cultivate understanding in the maths and sciences alongside creative power. This hands-on class seeks to unravel the world of airplanes and the sky from five educational fields: science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The exceptional program lets children learn about aerodynamics in an easy to follow way by using an authentic simulator that allows students to see how planes fly with wings they designed themselves. Receiving praise for stimulating ideas in math and science as well as encouraging creativity, the program received the TEPIA special award at the 12th Kids Design Awards.
